Alexia Saigh is a Los Angeles and Paris-based experimental artist whose practice bridges lighting, projection design, visual storytelling, and immersive installation. She recently completed her MA in Film and Photography at Paris College of Art and is currently pursuing her MFA in Cinematography at UCLA.
Light and projection are central to her practice, with an emphasis on in-camera experimentation and the transformation of physical space. Drawing from her backgrounds in fine art and cinematography, Alexia blends cinematic lighting strategies with theatrical lighting, projection design, and spatial installation, bringing traditionally separate mediums together within a single visual language.
Her work explores the interplay of light, color, movement, and perception, often blurring the boundary between reality and illusion. Through projection mapping, abstraction, experimental moving image, and immersive environments, she investigates how light can transform architecture, bodies, objects, and the audience’s experience of space. Her work has been presented at the Hammer Museum and PS/NEXT Arts & Technology Summit, alongside exhibitions in Los Angeles, Paris, and Palm Springs.
Alexia holds a B.A. in Fine Arts with a minor in Film, Television, and Digital Media from UCLA, graduating Cum Laude. Her interdisciplinary background is further informed by studies in architecture and design at UCLA Extension. Her work has received a 1st Place U.S. Congressional Art Award, 1st Place at the UCLA AI + Live Arts Hackathon, MPA Award, and 3rd Place International Photography Award, with additional recognition from PhotoVogue.
Looking ahead, Alexia aims to expand her work in lighting design, projection-driven experiences, immersive environments, and experimental moving image, creating sensory experiences that transform how audiences encounter image and space.
